The Model United Nations Conference is a platform for simulating international affairs, aiming to cultivate students' international perspectives, communication skills, and leadership abilities. It promotes international education and exchange, becoming a popular extracurricular activity for high school students. The Taipei City Government strives to enhance students' international perspectives and global thinking. Since 2016, the Taipei City Youth Development and Family Education Center (formerly the Youth Development Office) has organized the "Taipei City Model United Nations Workshop," inviting experienced MUN participants and experts in international issues to teach. The workshop format allows students to break through inter-school and age barriers, learn from instructors, and exchange with senior MUN participants, building a broad perspective, caring about global issues, and cultivating global affairs, communication skills, and leadership abilities.
